Carton Flow in Pick Modules

High-Density Carton Flow Systems for Faster Order Fulfillment

UNARCO’s Carton Flow Rack System can be used on selective pallet rack or in multi-level Pick Modules.  Engineered to maximize order picking efficiency and increase storage density on every level of your engineered Pick Module.  A full bed of rollers guarantees system compatibilities as SKU sizes change over time providing maximum efficiency for any Pick Module.

Carton Flow for Pick Modules improve inventory accessibility in any distribution center, e-commerce fulfillment operation, retail replenishment facilities or even manufacturing environments.

By  combining gravity-fed carton flow lanes with multi-level pick module designs, distribution centers can use vertical space to improve throughput.  UNARCO engineering can reduce labor costs by designing a Pick Module system that speeds product travel time to the picking position.

Carton flow rack utilizes inclined drop in lanes of pre-assembled wheel beds that automatically move cartons, totes and cases from the replenishment side to the pick side of the aisle.  As inventory is removed, the next carton advances automatically, ensuring a continuous supply of product at the picking position.  This first-in/first-out (FIFO) inventory rotation happens on multiple levels in a Pick Module to decrease real estate investment by using vertical space.

Why Carton Flow is the Foundation of Efficient Pick Modules

A well-designed Pick Module creates a highly organized picking environment where workers can access thousands of SKUs quickly and accurately.  Carton Flow racking serves as the core storage component within these engineered systems by providing dedicated SKU lanes and maintaining consistent product presentation at the pick face.

System Highlights:

UNARCO Carton Flow in Pick Modules saves labor from running all over the ground floor and creates efficient picking areas for specific products.  Gravity feeds the cartons to the pick position automatically.

  • Operators maintain high picking rates with less movement

  • Gravity-fed carton flow automatically positions inventory at the pick face

  • Multi-level pick modules with  carton flow allow operators to spend more time picking orders and less time handling inventory

  • 50% greater storage density can be achieved compared to conventional shelving systems

  • Full shelf utilization and multiple SKU lanes enable more inventory to be stored on the same footprint

The dedicated carton flow lanes maximize available pick faces and support a greater number of SKU location within the Pick Module.  Multiple levels of carton flow in an engineered system allow for separate loading and unloading which keeps pickers focused on each order rather than replenishment.

Add full-length lane dividers to help maintain SKU separation , but have the flexibility of a full bed of rollers as carton, tote and box sizes change.

Flexible Pick Module Configuations

Whether your warehouse operation requires a small order-picking area or a large-scale multi-level Pick Module fulfillment system, UNARCO engineers can design a carton flow Pick Module tailored to your inventory profile, order characteristics, and throughput requirements.  Separate workers and product by level to keep traffic flow filling orders and not wasting steps.

UNARCO Carton Flow Pick Modules are commonly integrated into E-Commerce fulfillment centers, 3PL operations, manufacturing and parts distribution, pharmaceutical and healthcare facilities, food and beverage distribution and automotive parts distribution.  Engineered designs can turn any warehouse into a multi-story pick module efficiency success.
